Aubree Catch-Up

Okay... Here is the down low with what Aubree has been going through. Aubree has been sick since school started. She has had strep throat 3 times, and ear infection, and 2 bladder infections. The poor kid's been on antibiotics since school started. At the beginning of December Aubree started complaining that she was hurting all the time. This was a different hurt than she had always complained about in the past. In the past, I just knew that she was trying to get out of being active, walking, and just trying to ruin all of our fun in general with her constant complaining. This pain was different. She wouldn't let it go. First her feet were hurting, then her knees, then her back, then pretty much all over. I got her to school one morning, and she literally could not get out of the car. I had to carry her 65 pound butt into the school. When we got in I checked out her legs and was in disbelief. Her ankles and knees were very swollen. I got her a doctor's appointment that afternoon. After a trip to the hospital, being poked and prodded more than I can tell you , and x-rayed until she glows, they think she has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. They gave her some pretty good drugs that finally started working (3 weeks after she started them.) Our awesome pediatrician got her into the best pedi rheumatologist at Scottish Rite Hospital. She has her first appointment on Valentine's Day. What a great way to say "I love you!"

Just Getting Started

Okay, so here we go. I have never blogged before, aside from that graduate class that they made me blog about my assignments (how boring!) Some of my friends have blogs, and love it. So, I thought I would give it a shot. My goal for this blog is to keep a record of the things that are happening in my life, the good, the bad and the ugly! I figured that my friends and family can keep up with what's going on in the lives of my family. If you are reading this you must promise not to be overly critical of my writing ability.
I am Casee the wife of Jim and Mom to Spencer, 8 and Aubree, 5. I work in Mabank ISD as a reading specialist. I live in Forney, but carry both of my kids with me to Mabank to go to school every day. I know this may sound crazy to some, but I really love having them at my fingertips. I never have to miss all of the awards, parties, parent nights, and once in a while I actually get to eat lunch with them. My kids are my life and consume most of my time. But that's okay, I wouldn't have it any other way. They are such a blessing, and I am so thankful to have them (most days.) :)
So, now that I've told you who I am and what I'm doing... let's let the fun begin!
